I tried to sign up for the $7.95 membership but instead I received a message saying that I am being billed for approx. $93.00 for an upgrade.

That was after my credit card was charged.

Very shady.

I am trying to find a phone number for them but there is none posted on the web site only an email.

If they don't take care of this soon my next call will be with the attorney's general office.

This goes back to basic reading skills. It says right there on the $7.95 option that it's for an annual subscription. Did this person really think there would get an annual subscription for just $7.95??? Right below the big print, it says the full amount you will be billed; which I believe is the 90-something amount they mention. Let me put this in perspective for others, month-to-month, or just one month, is $35. So, that $7.95/mo is actually a good deal if you want to be on there that long, and can pay the whole 12mos upfront.

This method for payment is absolutely nothing new and is done all of the internet. It just takes actually reading what is in plain view to be read to not make the mistake like the person who wrote this review. I just joined howaboutwe.com two days ago, and I'm thinking of doing the 3-month subscription. Hence, my looking up reviews of the site. However, reviews like this irritate the crap out of me. This person is bashing a site based on their own silly negligence, and they don't even realize it. It makes me question the validity of the other complaints.
