Speeddates...wave of the future, or major decline in personal communication?

It surprises me that so many of us, (myself included), have fallen for the allure of the 'iinstant dating' concept...All the sudden attention after you sign up, all the promises of tons of georgeous people just waiting to meet you-- but, there is a
major catch which the earlier poster covered- I also joined this site for the '3-day- trial offer, for something in the neighborhood of 3.95. Sounded like a fair deal, with promises to cancel after the three days, etc., so I took it. (obviously failed to read the fine print.....my bad!!
Decided after 3 days it was competely ridiculous, redundant offers for new registration, constantly popup screens (some of them generated when I would click a radio button to contact the the other party. Most of the time the software platform was less than par, very slow, and tended to freeze in sections. As previously mentioned, customer service was nil--after several attempts to contact the company in an effort to recind the 116.00 or something charge, I finally got a rude operator who informed me that they could not do that and the charge would stick. I proceeded to contact my credit card fraud unit, and they had the matter resolved within 10 days. Credit card merchant called the vendor repeatedly, received no answer, money was returned....finally. My recommendation would be to stay as far away as possible from this money machine!

Several more issues I could address, if interested email me at above address .

Thanks everyone!

Pros
Not too many....platform could be much improved in several areas.

Cons
Typically platform runs too slowly, also tends to crash during certain operations, etc..f
