I took a chance and started writing a few inmates on WAP.com after doing some soul searching and reading about the effects of a pen pal. I had nothing but good intentions and did not want a dating scenario etc, just to reach out, offer support, make a difference. Well I sent several letters and none were answered then one day I received three letters from the same facility. Turns out that one of the inmates I wrote wasn't interested in being my pen pal but passed on my letter to several others. I'm not offended or put off, like with anything it's taking a chance & this time it didn't work out. It was just a little weird that instead of writing "I'm not interested" or throwing the letter away, it was passed on to other people.
