This site is the worst. It says date my pet, but you are pooled with at least two other sites, one for widows and widowers and another for older daters. So no, the site is not just for animal lovers, it is for anyone who pays a fee and joins a sham site. Additionally it has more scammers then any other dating site. Be wary and do NOT join!

Misleading
I created a profile for Date My Pet thinking that other local pet owners/lovers would be available to date. Wrong! Profiles make no mention of what type of pets a user has, or pictures with them. Messages I received were from across the country. Totally unrealistic. I was going to stay a free member for 30 days beforehand I joined for a higher price compared to other dating sites. I deleted my account after 1 day. Don't be fooled. Not geared to animal lovers. Too bad.

This dating site was totally misleading there were not fellow animal lovers looking for a mate. They claim that they're local singles but most of the ones they send you are out of state. I found this site to be a complete waist of money and time.
