I arrived with my friend at the Muslim and Single organised event, we were not really greeted and were simply asked to wait to be registered. Twenty minutes later we prompted the organisers that we were still waiting, they then told us -we emailed you earlier, your tickets have been refunded as there isn't enough space. I'm disgusted. I booked the tickets over a week ago. How can they simply send out an email cancelling somebodies tickets five hours before the event?

Also I found the organisers completely unprofessional. Knowing they had cancelled people's tickets and there was a disproportionate number of women in the coffee shop why didn't they check who I was when I arrived? I spent time and money getting to this event. It takes ALOT of energy to come to these events and I can't believe I wasn't treated better. Also I was told I could stay and be a spectator! This was a completely ridiculous and inappropriate offer. Mingling isn't a sport I want to watch. This was an event specifically to meet potential partners that I had paid to participate in. Why would I want to stay at the event and watch other women meet the potential partners I had dressed up, travelled and psyched myself up to meet? This offer shows no common sense or understanding of why people come to these events.

I am disappointed and seriously concerned about the people running this event. They need to be better organised and better with their customers.

If there is a possibility of tickets being cancelled at short notice I should have been warned earlier and why couldn't they have taken my mobile phone number when I bought the tickets so they could've rung or texted me so I didn't go to the effort of coming to the event?

I feel money is being made with very little concern for clients or adequate organisation of events. Staff at the events need to appear to be and actually be professional. They did not come across well. If they are going to provide a service then they should do it properly, or just don't bother.
