Are you a Lunch Actually member? You have no details on your facebook, and we can’t find your name in our database.

Also, to address your concerns:

1. We have a strict verification process to ensure that our singles are sincere and genuinely keen to look for a serious relationship. You can be sure that the Tinder horror stories you’ve heard about will not happen with Lunch Actually.

2. We have been in the matchmaking business for more than 12 years. Till date, we have sent our members out on more than 80,000 dates. Internally, we have a strict matching methodology which has helped us to keep to a benchmark of 80% satisfaction - meaning that our members are happy with more than 80% of their date experience at Lunch Actually.

3. During the first consultation, we will learn as much as we can from our customer. Based on his/her requirements, we will perform an initial lookup in our database. If we have suitable matches for this customer, we will invite him/her to join our database. If not, we will suggest him or her to explore other dating channels such as using a dating app, or going out on singles’ events.

4. As above, our dating consultants (trained and accredited by Social Development Network) will work closely with our members to learn more about them and understand their dating history and match preferences. From there, we will find suitable matches for them.

5. What you are describing is called “reprofiling” in our company. We understand that as our members meet more people and go on more dates, their idea of an “ideal partner” might change and evolve. If this happens, we will invite our member down to our office for a reprofiling session. Once they communicate their updated preferences to us, we will be able to take note of the changes and continue searching for the best possible match for them.

6. Yes, we have a prompt conflict resolution process and fair refund policy to address our upset customers.

7. Yes, we are a legitimate business, and we deliver what we promise. In a rare scenario where we fail to meet the expectation of our members, we will suggest alternatives or provide a refund to our members.

8. All personal information (including contact details and photos) are kept strictly confidential. When a date is confirmed with someone, he or she will have limited access to your personal information (not including your name and contact details). After your date, it is both of your prerogatives to decide whether you wish to exchange contact details.

We received this complaint from a customer last year, and we have issued him with his refund. And you are not him. Are you a Lunch Actually member? We can’t find your name in our database.

Regarding our refund policy, we apologize that we are not able to issue refunds sooner. There is a strict investigation protocol we have to follow internally to ensure that every refund that is requested is justified. After that is done, we will forward the case to our finance department to process payment. All internal communication between departments and external communication with our members take time. In any case, we have forwarded this concern to our management. We will improve our system internally to speed up our refund processes.
