CS rocks, with few exceptions.

The only really free site. Many claim such, but use all sorts of tricks to scrape up a few shekels. Lots of features. These are a good way to vet others, apart from the usual writing back and fort. This happens rarely, but as advised, it pays to do so on the site's emails, and only go to more private communication after there seem to be possibilities. Life is short, and this approach eliminates almost all scammers, and poor/uneducated folks, if that is of interest. I've made friends, whom I stay in touch with, even if these might not be matches. Would appreciate knowing of any other such sites.

As above. One would think that being really free, the members of CS would rank below some paying sights on sociodemographic grounds. But I haven't noticed much of a difference. Perhaps CS might have a greater percentage of scammers, but these are easily dealt with, as above, and using other tricks.
