I was contacted by over 1000 women in a couple of weeks. I made a point of ignoring profiles that had photos of women in bikinis or underwear or were from teenagers (the majority). I was ruthless in weeding out potential scams, but discovered that even women whom I had independently confirmed to be genuine people were all eventually after money. These included typhoon damage (I checked the weather charts - didn't touch her city), rabies injections (no bite visible on cam), kids asthma (couldn't tell me anything about required medication), parent's treatment for schistosomiasis (I pointed out that it costs $2 for one tablet, taken once a year), $1000+ costs for marriage annulment (for someone I had never met!!), expensive computer repairs, etc etc etc. I was even asked to pay for a jeepney registration - very creative. I agree with the guy above - go there and meet real people. Don't waste your time money and emotions on these sites, and do everybody a favour by referring other potential users to these reviews.

It's always nice to see an offer come in from a sweet and attractive gentleman. Winks are a waste of time because most of the guys that wink don't have money to even accept an offer.

I don't believe many of the supposedly female profiles in that website are real, and probably even fewer if you're not in the US. As other people mention, as soon as you join you start being contacted by "hot women" who will usually try to get you to watch their webcam somewhere else (after paying to join whatever service their offering). I guess a good thing for those outside the US is that it's easier to spot the obviously fake profiles - they will claim to be from your country but the pictures will show a girl wearing an NFL jersey, for example, or the photo will show US-style power plugs in the background etc.

Review about JapanCupid.comI've been a member of this site for about 1 1/2 year now. I gotta be honest, most of these profiles are fake. I have not been able to find a single friend or even pen pal after wasting money on the membership fee(expensive as hell, when you think about it). Have got no serious message, besides dull and obviously fake messages. Most of these Japanese women are only looking for white men or black men, basically anyone who's not Asian. I guess they see Asian men everyday so maybe there just not interested. I have friends who have try this site and have said the exact same thing.
So just a note for all my Asian American guys. You should jump into this site knowing that your Asian, and that these women see Asian guys everyday, you either have to be very unique, because if your not, these women would just flick you off, because why would they talk to you when they can just date Asian guys from Japan.
