Like the others I have found some of the 'issues' they described but lets be realistic here, you get scammers, 'professionals' on ALL dating sites, I found that if I reported these people to the admin of Illicit Encounters, they dealt with them pretty quickly - it is not in their interest to have these people on their site after all and it's bad for business.
The site is expensive I guess - it really is relative. How much do you value being able to arrange a discreet affair in privacy and in your own time ? People will always complain and make excuses or blame the service for their own failures, I mean if you going on with a username like 'Cl*t Licker' - do you really expect women to respond to you ? Some people are just stupid and no matter how much they pay, they will still fail.

I registered for this site twice under two different user names. The system kept sending me messages that my account was either suspended or permanantly deactivated. I conducted a live chat and was told that one of the accounts had been reactivated, when I tried to log in I received the same message that the account was deactivated. I uploaded my photos & drivers license for verification purposes and hope that this is not a part of some scam. The site states that a drivers license is supposed to be uploaded to weed out scammers, so I'm praying that my information is in good hands. I'm still waiting to see if the account has been activated or not.
Cons The legitimacy of the site still remains to be seen. I have yet to hear back from someone regarding my issues and determine whether or not the site is legitimate or a SCAM.

He immediately got defensive saying that those were the only photos he had and that they should suffice. Weary of his response, I saved his profile photos to my computer and uploaded them to a site that does a reverse photo search of billions of images already on the web, (just google tineye).
Turns out he had stolen every photo from a modeling site which I was also a part of! I confronted him in a blunt message and immediately blocked him. I then politely emailed SA to report him, handing over all of his information on a silver platter, even the link to the model's portfolio, only to see them do nothing about it. That was about 3 months ago and his profile still works to this day. It bothers me that he is out there scamming other girls who may not be smart enough to figure it out. His profile is 877352.
I also had another man contact me claiming to be some big photographer blah blah blah, he put his contact info in the message so naturally I googled him. ALWAYS do a short google search of names and numbers! Turns out he had sent the same exact message to many other girls and was running an escort service, go figure. I again blocked and reported him to SA. I still have yet to receive any response. His profile is 752271. The contact info he gave me was
Just google his cell and you'll find tons of references to escort services.
In the end it all boils down to doing your research and knowing who you're talking to. ALWAYS meet in a safe, public place and never do anything you're uncomfortable with. If he is a true SD he will have no problem accommodating to your requests.
One last little gripe about SA... I have a feeling they mess with my messages. I often write to SDs first and on rare occasions I notice that my message was never read although I see them online. At first I thought they just must not interested but recently I messaged a guy and a day went by with the little red X by my message meaning he never opened it or had just deleted it. I thought nothing of it until he later favorited me and messaged me with no reference to my original message. After reading his message, I went and checked my outbox and the red X was still there next to my original message meaning he hadn't read it, meaning he had never received it... I am curious to know why SA won't send some messages and if anyone has had a similar experience?
All in all SA has brought me to some amazing people and experiences so I can't complain too much.. I would recommend SA to those who are patient and have their wits about them.. As long as you're not ignorant and desperate you should come out on top! Hope my review helps! :)

One thing I do see about this site is it can come out as looking kind of sleezy. You are suppose to meet new people so you randomly browse people and send them a message like most dating sites. Because of this the best people do not join this site. It kind of becomes a hook up site. I did some testing. I messaged 20 people, just a simple "hi" and I got "NO" responses which allows me to believe there is also a lot of fake people on the site to make them look bigger then they are. They say there are 100 million users and I am betting maybe closer to 1 million. Also coming from a game background I can tell you their new games are awful. They have a very poor interface, very confusing, and just ugly, especially if you compare them to some of the social games Facebook has. If they were smart they would fire all their designers that make their games.
What they should do is make it less of a dating site. Meetup.com has a really good look and feel to meeting new people. They should allow people to set up groups and invite people to the groups and then that can go on the user's google calendar. They should get rid of the random browsing feature. Get rid of the ugly feature for users to change their background. That was bad on myspace and bad on tagged. If you want to offer your users some control then have them add widgets, badges or apps to their page. Fire your designers and hire people with talent. The whole pet thing is so cheesy. I am a western girl (and pretty attractive) who joined up, and was only a member (standard) for 2 or 3 months, before Japancupid terminated my account, with no explanation as to why. I received a staggering amount of mails and messages from Japanese and western guys - averaging about 10-15 a day - and they were all paying members! :D So I obviously didnt need to pay any money to speak to them...

Wrong. Once I paid all the interest (like "virtual kisses" on my profile) stopped dead. Of those I wrote to most did not even reply, one asked for money nearly straight away and one other - who I was quite keen on - eventually admitted to be in it for the flirting but did not want to meet. Then a day before my subscription was due to run out the "virtual kisses" started again. I would feel better in myself if I had given the money to charity. Complete waste of time and money. The site is a scam, as simple as that.

Review about Tagged.comSo I was approached by a recruiter to work for tagged.com so I did some research. Tagged.com does have a lot of good things. It is sort of like a 1 shopping place for all your social needs. The difference between them and facebook is that they allow you to meet new people instead of staying in touch with older friends.
The interface is alright and easy to navigate through. I am a designer with a usability background so I do know what I am talking about. One thing I do see about this site is it can come out as looking kind of sleezy. You are suppose to meet new people so you randomly browse people and send them a message like most dating sites. Because of this the best people do not join this site. It kind of becomes a hook up site. I did some testing. I messaged 20 people, just a simple "hi" and I got "NO" responses which allows me to believe there is also a lot of fake people on the site to make them look bigger then they are. They say there are 100 million users and I am betting maybe closer to 1 million. Also coming from a game background I can tell you their new games are awful. They have a very poor interface, very confusing, and just ugly, especially if you compare them to some of the social games Facebook has. If they were smart they would fire all their designers that make their games.
What they should do is make it less of a dating site. Meetup.com has a really good look and feel to meeting new people. They should allow people to set up groups and invite people to the groups and then that can go on the user's google calendar. They should get rid of the random browsing feature. Get rid of the ugly feature for users to change their background. That was bad on myspace and bad on tagged. If you want to offer your users some control then have them add widgets, badges or apps to their page. Fire your designers and hire people with talent. The whole pet thing is so cheesy. I do like the idea of award and earning money but buying people is so stupid.

Review about JapanCupid.comI am a western girl (and pretty attractive) who joined up, and was only a member (standard) for 2 or 3 months, before Japancupid terminated my account, with no explanation as to why. I received a staggering amount of mails and messages from Japanese and western guys - averaging about 10-15 a day - and they were all paying members! :D So I obviously didnt need to pay any money to speak to them...
I sent 2 emails to Japancupid asking why I was getting the message saying "Your account has been terminated and can not be reactivated", and no-one could tell me why.
They didn't even bother to reply to my emails, but I know i did nothing to be banned in that way.
I tried to make a second account using a different email, but all my same details, and very shortly after they approved my photos etc, they then terminated the second account.
It can only make me think that they do indeed have ALOT of fake profiles, and for whatever reason they prefer to have their "own" girls on there as bait. Not other girls who may steal attention from the girls they want to promote. Its all I can think of. I am still waiting to be told what I have done to be banned, but I obviously wont be trying to sign up again.

Before you pay you get invited for chats the second you log on (that is odd) and also get e-mails of interest and both always by very beautiful women (even odder). When you join you get false messages. Also if someone reads your message to her and she DOES NOT like you, you still get a message from the administrators to say she wants to contact you!
I have contacted some women I met there who gave me their e-mail adds ... they were scammers.
When you try to CANCEL ... well, as others have stated elsewhere .... they PREVENT you from cancelling and keep taking money every month. They usually say you paid by PayPal when you did not and then tell you to cancel your paypal (which you cannot do as you did not pay that way) ... but I wonder if they want to get the Paypal details.

First of all, I'm 36 and I may not be 18-20s but I'm not unattractive, desperate or psycho. I joined the sites because I'm planning a trip to Seoul, South Korea and Toyko, Japan for a few months this Fall and thought it best to make some friends first.
I posted my interest on both sites as "Penpals" with both men and women close to my age from those areas with shared common interest. Although I never paid for the JapanCupid site, I did pay for 1 month of KoreanCupid and just as soon as I paid...sudden silence!
On JapanCupid, the only ones that contacted me were..OO..scary! A couple of grandpa's well into their 60s, a few prison parolees types and of course a few over-sexually charged teens (18-19) but few Japanese men and never any even slightly close to a sociable age. I'm a friendly person that is open-minded but grandpa wanted a live-in-nurse/maid (with benefits), the prison parolee cussed me out for refusing to Skype and the teen boy sent me pics (more like a photo album) of his "manhood". oO Yeah, thanks J & K Cupids for rocking my world the wrong way!
