Undoubtedly there are "fake" profiles out there. There are fake profiles on every site that allows people to make a profile without paying. This doesn't meant the site is a scam.
I suspect the unsatisfied users out there are unsatisfied for reasons that aren't really the fault of the site. For example, there are a lot of Japanese women on the site. Japanese women who live in Japan. In the majority of cases, these women are not interested in you if you live overseas. Not because they are racist, not because they wouldn't like you if they met you, but because it's simply too much of a long shot to start corresponding with someone who they can't meet without getting an international plane ticket.

On May 5, 2011 On May 5, 2011 I signed up for a subscription to speeedate by logging into their billing website. They gave the option of signing up for one year for $191.40 or one month at $39.95. I chose to be billed for one month at $39.95 but when the billing process was complete I noticed they mysteriously had billed me for $191.40 for an entire year.This is fraud pure and simple.
So I contacted my credit card company (M & T Bank) to dispute the charge. On August 3, 2011 the credit card company responded to my complaint and they stated there was no basis for my claim based upon documentation and a letter from Speeddate's representative Gina Johnson. The Speeddate representative falsely stated to M& T Bank that I had "opened a speeddate.com account with recurring billing". This is not true since I signed up for a one time monthly charge of $39.95, being duped in a similar manner as thousands of others.
I am currenrtly in the process of filing a complaint with Federal Regulatory officials. Aside from the fraudulent billing practices I would also like to get the Justice Department to investifgate them for possible violations of the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act. Review about ChristianMingleI used Christianmingle for about 8 months, and although I have found many respectable men on here, I have been unsuccessful in finding the "one" for me. Many of the men that actually wanted to date me were very much older than my age (like....25-30 or more years older; I've had a 75-year-old man ask me out on a date. No offense, but as a young girl its kind of a shock when that happens), and the ones that were around my age (which I would say up to 5 yrs difference-always older) were more "strange," as Noor above pointed out (I don't want to fully explain the details but...all I can say is that their motives were similar to that of non-Christian sites). But although I have had bad experiences, I have heard of many other people who have had good experiences on this site. All in all, I think Christianmingle is somewhat of a safe site (in the sense that many of the people ARE in fact telling the truth about themselves in most cases), but then again its vital to take precaution in all dating sites.

Speedate= FRAUDULENT BILLING PRACTICES
Review about SpeedDate.comOn May 5, 2011 On May 5, 2011 I signed up for a subscription to speeedate by logging into their billing website. They gave the option of signing up for one year for $191.40 or one month at $39.95. I chose to be billed for one month at $39.95 but when the billing process was complete I noticed they mysteriously had billed me for $191.40 for an entire year.This is fraud pure and simple.
So I contacted my credit card company (M & T Bank) to dispute the charge. On August 3, 2011 the credit card company responded to my complaint and they stated there was no basis for my claim based upon documentation and a letter from Speeddate's representative Gina Johnson. The Speeddate representative falsely stated to M& T Bank that I had "opened a speeddate.com account with recurring billing". This is not true since I signed up for a one time monthly charge of $39.95, being duped in a similar manner as thousands of others.
I am currenrtly in the process of filing a complaint with Federal Regulatory officials. Aside from the fraudulent billing practices I would also like to get the Justice Department to investifgate them for possible violations of the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act. Most of these messages come from people joining other sites for other reasons. They are probably regretting it too.
